  4. This archive contains those files required to run the 1.02 release of FreeNews.
  5.  
  6. You will also need to download the FreeNews support archive if you don't
  7. already possess the Acorn Toolbox modules and/or the latest Drawfile version.
  8. (You shouldn't need this if you have RISC OS 3.60; however there are a number
  9. of module upgrades here that are newer than those in your ROM).

  16. Thanks for downloading the second full release version of FreeNews.

  18. You'll find full installation instructions in !FreeNews.!Help. Note that
  19. FreeNews does support Acorn's interactive help.

  22. If you are upgrading from FreeNews version 0.98 or before

  25. It is important to note that there have been a few changes that will affect
  26. your installation. 
  27.  
  28. Importantly, the !FreeNews.Data.Config file has a completely new format. You
  29. *MUST* take the config file included in this archive. The AllGroup file also
  30. has a new format: each newsgroup name is followed by a tab character
  31. (CHR$(9)) and the digit 1. This is for future expansion.

  33. When you add a group to the newsfeed using !Groups, a dialogue box will
  34. appear offering you the chance to accept the group. This may change again in
  35. future releases, and currently the value you provide is ignored. Beware
  36. though, your choice is stored, and will take affect when FreeNews itself
  37. supports it.

  39. If you are upgrading from FreeNews version 1.00 or 1.01

  51. FreeNews or the creation of an SMTP client, FreeMail. You decide - please
